This morning we’ll try something new – live blogging from the 15th GOP Debate by NBC and Meet The Press! Not sure how it’s done – but it’ll be a test run.

Updates.

9.23  First break. Trying a mix of updates and comments. Huntsman very tired, subtext for the debate is Romney won Iowa – far ahead in SC and NH, and he’s probably won the thing already.

9.29  Belated comment: Attacking Obama for “lack of leadership experience” might be a little late. He’s been the President of US for three years now. The record could be debated, but he has a few in his belt.

9.34  Where’s the Sweater? Santorum needs his kryptonite.

9.42  Perry a tad more coherent – maybe not taking it so seriously anymore. Second break.

10.02  Soft-balls on same-sex issues. Easily fended off by Romney and Santorum.

10.03  More mindless “Obama is anti-business” language from Romney. Taxes do not affect hiring decisions. Taxes affect profits, not cost.

10.10  Ron Paul: We just have a few basic rights, f.ex the right to “keep the fruits of your labor”. Sounds a bit like a far left worker’s rights advocate.

10.16  Break, and David alone again. He seems way more comfortable.

10.18  Newster hiding behind opinions from NY Times.

10.19  Ooohh. This pins the Super PACs to Romney. Now it’s his fingerprints on it. Clear blow from Newt. Mitt admitting “of course it’s my staff” sounds not good.

10.28  Oh, it’s done. Now for some analysis from Chris Matthews & Co.

First thoughts.

Great debate, most tense at the end with Mitt and Newt, Huntsman a bit bigger presence than usual, the Liberty talk from Paul is always nice and clear as abstract ideology, Perry felt “outside” the process, Santorum back to the shadows in many ways.

But, none of this probably matters very much.

If Romney wins both NH and SC, which seems about as likely as before the debate – the race is done.
