Obama made a speech to the Congressional Black Caucus on Saturday:
“Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes. Shake it off. Stop complainin’. Stop grumblin’. Stop cryin’. We are going to press on. We have work to do.”
This might be a bit off-putting and provocative to some. Obama has not done a very good job on several important and critical issues, disappointing millions of American voters, and he has not improved the economy or the country in any significant concrete or structural manner yet. After three years the debt is growing at a faster rate than before, the jobs are not coming back, poverty is growing, and the 1% have even more prosperity and control than they used to. All this on his watch.
So if you fail – it’s a bit bad form to tell your supporters to shove it.
