Obama Chooses Confrontation With Republicans

This suddenly got interesting..
GOP has full control over Congress (technically not before Jan 3rd).. and should fix this..
After years of “no” to everything.. their tactics have to change..
Presenting a more concrete alternative..
And maybe Obama aims for Health Care and Immigration as his main domestic legacies, and will fight hard for it..

President Obama “chose confrontation over conciliation on Thursday as he asserted the powers of the Oval Office to reshape the nation’s immigration system and dared members of next year’s Republican-controlled Congress to reverse his actions on behalf of millions of immigrants,” the New York Times reports.

Said Obama: “To those members of Congress who question my authority to make our immigration system work better, or question the wisdom of me acting where Congress has failed, I have one answer: Pass a bill.”

    • Yep, and maybe he’ll arrive late but good on his whole Presidency as well. He seems to need a very fixed deadline or direct threat to function well.
And maybe something forceful and effective will be done with the Russian sideshow too, before he signs off.

Maybe it’s his ego and arrogance that makes losing just seem unbearable to him.. not that he really cares that much about the well-being of the country or normal folks, but he sure doesn’t wanna look bad in the Presidential Club.

      • I don’t know. I think he did have ideas about doing things for the people when he first started out, but then it turned into a difficult challenge, and I’m not sure he handles difficult challenges that well. Now he’s got nothing to lose, and that seems to have given him a second wind of some sort 🙂

  1. The man HAS done pretty goood on the whole guys….

    Military cuts
    Consumer Protection
    Economy rescue
and host of other things like winning TWO terms….

Not a bad show even if he’s made us a bit frustrated from time to time…
